Sydney FC new boy Luke Brattan has called for the Sky Blues’ 12th man to turn out in numbers again on Friday night at Leichhardt Oval.

Hailing the impact of The Cove and the Sky Blues’ Members and fans, Brattan said the atmosphere generated at the inner west venues excited the squad.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back out at Leichhardt Oval,” Brattan said.

“There’s no easy games in the A-League but it’ll be good to be back in front of our home fans. Hopefully there’s a good turnout.

“It was a great atmosphere there against Wellington. We got the result which was pleasing and we’re keen to be back there.

“The Cove are great, they make a lot of noise and it just adds to the atmosphere and we need that. When we hear that on the field, it’s our 12th man and keeps us going. I can’t wait to see them again.

“On the weekend was a bit disappointing but I think there’s positives, there was only one team wanting to win that game and we dominated the whole game,” he continued.

“That’s pleasing, but at the end of the day we didn’t get three points and we look to bounce back at Leichhardt Oval on Friday night.”

Three Hyundai A-League games into his career with the Sky Blues, Brattan credited the Sydney FC playing group for helping him transition into life in the Harbour City.

“I feel as though I’ve settled in pretty well, it’s not difficult when you’ve got the players around you that I have,” he said.

“They’re all really talented and a great bunch of boys. It makes my job a lot easier when you know there’s great players around you.

“You lift up a level as well and I’m looking to do that this season. It’s an honour to play with some of these players, a very talented group, and it’s just a credit to the coaching staff and Sydney FC for putting this team together.”

The Sky Blues take on Newcastle Jets this Friday 1st November at Leichhardt Oval (kick off 7:30 AEDT). Get there to back your Sky Blues with tickets available online now, watch on Fox Sports 505 or follow @SydneyFC on Twitter for live updates from the clash.
