Sydney FC goalkeeper Clint Bolton is aiming to finish his five year Sydney FC career the same way it started – by winning the Hyundai A-League title.
“I have had five very good years at Sydney FC and have the utmost respect for the club,” Bolton said.
“I have some very fond memories of my time here and I will be doing everything I can to help the club win the A-League title this season.
“Irrespective of what has happened around me I have always been 100% committed to the club. I wish to clarify that comments I made to the media last week were not intended to upset the club or our fans. I am very appreciative of the support they have given me since the day I joined Sydney FC.
“We want to win the title not just for the club and fans but to give Bimbi (Steve Corica) the perfect send off. We are all totally focused on doing that.”
Sydney FC Vice Chairman Scott Barlow said Bolton has been an integral part of Sydney FC and the club wished him all the best for the next A-League season.
“Clint has been a great servant to Sydney FC since the inaugural A-League season. We wish him all the best with his national team duties as he pursues a spot at the World Cup,” Barlow said.
“He has a number of big games to play for Sydney FC in the coming weeks. It is an exciting time for the club.”
Bolton, currently on national team duties, will return to Sydney next Thursday with his fellow Sydney FC teammates and immediately turn his attention to the club-s epic showdown against Melbourne Victory in the second leg of the Major Semi Final being held at the Sydney Football Stadium on Sunday 7 March.
