Best in five years in Ante Juric’s eyes

Sydney FC’s Head cCoach Ante Juric was all smiles in his post-match press conference after a dominant 3-0 victory against Melbourne City. Goals from Sarah Hunter, Cortnee Vine, and Madison Haley ensured the win for Sydney, much to the delight of Juric who praised his team’s performance on the day.

“The first half was probably the best I’ve seen in five years,” Juric said. “It was intense and quick with a lot of chances, but we just didn’t put them away. It was unbelievable football.”

Juric had a few words of praise for star forward Sarah Hunter, who continues to be a standout player for Sydney FC. “She’s a star now,” Juric said. “She’s exceptional and adds goals at the right time. She’s just a winner and reminds me of Tim Cahill. She works like two players.”

Sydney FC’s success this season can also be attributed to the club’s commitment to developing young talent. “We’re proud of it,” Juric said. “We’ve had young ones come in and we train them up. They perform as adults and professional footballers.”

Juric also spoke highly of Cortnee Vine, who despite her recent call-up to the Matildas, has been exceptional for Sydney FC this season. “She’s now really causing havoc,” Juric said. “The energy is great and it goes throughout the team. There’s a good vibe.”

Overall, Juric was pleased with his team’s performance against Melbourne City, and he emphasized that the best is yet to come for Sydney FC.
