Sydney FC and centre-back Ben Warland have come to an agreement to terminate the final year of the defender’s contract.
Warland is keen to take up another playing opportunity elsewhere and leaves the Sky Blues with the club’s best wishes.
“I’ve had an incredible four years at Sydney FC and been part of a hugely successful time which has been highly enjoyable,” he said.
“However I believe the time is right for a new challenge for me and my family and I wish the club the best for the future.”
Head Coach Steve Corica thanked the 25-year old for his service to the club.
“Ben has been a very good servant to Sydney FC and he is a pleasure to work with,” he said.
“He leaves with our best wishes and we would welcome Ben, wife Olivia and daughter Ruby back any time.”
Warland won two Championships and two Premierships as a Sky Blue playing 58 times in all competitions, scoring goal.
