Sydney FC’s new Head Coach Graham Arnold is primed and ready for his first match, as his Sky Blues squad get set to play IGA NSW NPL Men’s 2 team Macarthur Rams at Campbelltown Stadium on Wednesday (kick off 7:30pm).
The Sky Blues travel to Campbelltown having never lost to the Rams, holding thee wins and two draws against their state league opposition, scoring seven goals and conceding two, with their most recent encounter finishing all square at 1-1.
The two clubs have a history that stretches back five years, coming face to face each Hyundai A-League preseason since 2009, and Arnold hopes the Rams will prove a good test for his newly assembled squad.
“I’m looking forward to it,” he said. “It will be my first match as Sydney FC Head Coach and it will be good to get things underway.
“It will be my first look at our squad against another team and will give me some food for thought ahead of our trip to New Zealand.
“I know the Rams will be fired up for the game. They have some young players no doubt aspiring to play in the A-League.
“Every kid dreams of playing for Sydney FC one day, so they’ll be looking to prove themselves against A-League opposition.
“The Rams finished second in their season so they’re a good squad but I’m confident that we can continue our good record against them.”
