Andrew Redmayne appointed to PFA Executive Committee

Professional Footballers Australia (the PFA) can announce the appointment of Socceroo goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne to the organisation’s Executive Committee.

Redmayne joins the PFA Executive Committee after playing influential roles in collective bargaining negotiations for the A-Leagues

Redmayne has had over 280 appearances in Australia

The long-serving PFA Delegates replace the recently retired Tommy Oar and Nikolai Topor-Stanley on the Executive. Redmayne will help to advance and protect the interests, conditions and welfare of their fellow professional footballers through their role on the Executive.

PFA Chair Francis Awaritefe said Redmayne would enhance the PFA’s efforts to advance the interests of the players and the game.

Alex Wilkinson has been the President of the PFA in recent years

“Australian professional players have been fortunate to have had many brilliant leaders that have made an enormous contribution to Australian football and their peers through the PFA Executive over the last 30 years,” Awaritefe said.

“We are fortunate to again have a wonderful pool of players to lead this generation, and in Andrew, PFA members will continue to have incredibly strong leadership.”

A product of the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), Redmayne has played over 200 matches for five A-League Men clubs, and has represented Australia at U20s, U23s and at senior level for the Socceroos, including the 2022 FIFA Men’s World Cup.

“Through my career in the A-League and while playing with the Socceroos, I have seen first-hand the positive role the PFA plays for the players and the game,” Redmayne said.

“Together, using the voice of all members, we have made significant progress, but there are still so many areas within the game that the players can influence to drive further growth. I’m excited to take on this important role and work with the Executive to deliver the players’ shared goals and ambitions for the sport.”

Jack Hingert also joins Andrew Redmayne in being appointed to the Executive Committee.
