Sydney FC new boy Zac Anderson is targeting a big 2015/16 season as he completed his first day of training as a Sky Blue player on Monday.

Anderson, who previously played under Head Coach Graham Arnold at the Central Coast Mariners, is looking forward to playing in front of the Sky Blues faithful and producing some successful football, in what he hopes will be a silverware laden year with the Harbour City club.

“[I want] to play some successful football and play in front of the Sydney FC fans [the most],” Anderson said.

“I want to be a part of this club, I want to be a part of the success and I want to bring my quality to Sydney Football Club. I have a lot of ambitions to help this club to reach the success it wants to reach.

“I’m really looking forward to adding my quality to the club and I hope that we can have a great year.

“Obviously last year it was disappointing to fall at the final hurdle and this year the boys are coming in bright eyed on the first day with huge ambitions,” he continued.

“They’re working really hard from day one and we’re looking forward to having a big year.”

After a tough first session under Head of Strength and Conditioning Andrew Clark, Anderson said he was looking forward to meeting the rest of his teammates over the coming days as the squad prepares for its first pre-season hit out against Earlwood Wanderers FC on Wednesday.

“It’s been a tough day today but I expected nothing less,” he said.

“I’ve worked with Andrew Clark and obviously Graham Arnold before and I’ve had a lot success with them as well. It’s fantastic to be reunited and I’m really looking forward to working with them over the next year.

“The boys have been really welcoming and it’s really fantastic to be around them and the staff. It’s a fantastic place to be a part of and I’m really happy to be here.

“Obviously I haven’t met the majority of the squad but I’ve played against them, it’s a great change room and there’s some really experienced boys in there as well, so I’m looking forward to getting to know them all.”

Sydney FC take on Earlwood Wanderers FC in the Johnny Warren Community Challenge in their first pre-season match on Wednesday 22 July at Leichhardt Oval (kick off 7:30pm).
