Sydney FC star Chloe Logarzo is relishing the quick start the Sky Blues have made to the Westfield W-League 2019/20 season.

Notoriously shaky starters, Head Coach Ante Juric’s charges have claimed maximum points from their opening two games, scoring four goals unanswered in the process to sit in first place.

“After the last two years starting shaky, it’s nice to get off to a good start,” Logarzo said.

“Having kept Ante and 15 players from last season if we’d started shaky again it would have been devastating for us. It’s nice to have everyone on the same page, and the philosophy that Ante has is coming into play.

“Having only had a few training sessions together and then performing how we did against Melbourne and then Adelaide it’s nice.

“The experience we’ve got in our squad is really shining and there’s a few young girls destined to have a good year and we’ve got good squad depth so it’ll be interesting to see how that goes throughout the season.”

Sunday’s next encounter is a Grand Final rematch in Perth, but it’s a new look Glory side compared to the one that the Sky Blues defeated 4-2 to lift the title in February.

Missing their star striker Sam Kerr, Logarzo is looking forward to the clash that brings back fond memories for herself.

“It’s exciting for us to go up against Perth again,” she said.

“They’re missing Sam [Kerr] this year and will have to try a lot harder, so I’m looking forward to another good game.

“Seeing the Perth fixture come up it brings back good memories from that Grand Final in February and it was nice to be able to win a Grand Final in front of my friends and family,” she continued.

“It was a great feeling to also score in that game and I’m eager for more.

“We are sitting on the top of the table, we’re one of the most successful clubs in the W-League since inception so no matter who we play they’re going to be going all out to beat us.”

Sydney FC return to Westfield W-League action on Sunday 1 December away against Perth Glory at Dorrien Gardens (kick off 4pm AEDT).
