Sydney FC Head Coach Graham Arnold expects to make two signings prior to the closing of the Hyundai A-League transfer window.
Addressing the media this morning Arnold stated that he expects a defender and an attacker to sign for the club sometime over the next couple of days.
“We’re down to the last 12 hours of the transfer window, I expect 2 players to sign for us over the comings days and they will strengthen our squad considerably in numbers,” Arnold said.
“We’ve got a busy afternoon and evening ahead of us to make those decisions but we definitely will be adding one or two players,” he said.
The additional signings will join a Sky Blue squad buoyed by last weeks 3-1 win over Melbourne Victory, a result that sees Sydney FC with the opportunity to break a number of Hyundai A-League records.
Having already won the FFA Cup this season, Sydney FC could become the first team to win a domestic treble, which combined with last years Championship and Premiership wins would represent an unparalleled trophy haul.
“The motivation is to win every game, and we expect to win every game. What I’m driving at the moment is to break records and make history,” Arnold said.
“The other record that we’re chasing is the 66 points that we got last year and we’re on track to beat that. The group of players that I’ve got love breaking records, they love making history and it motivates and drives them.”
It’s ‘Mates Night Out’ at Allianz Stadium this Friday night as the Sky Blues take on the Phoenix at the ‘Fortress’ in Round 19 (kick off 7:50pm AEDT).
