After opening the Hyundai A-League season with a 3-2 win over North Queensland in Townsville, Sydney FC hosted Adelaide United last Sunday at the SFS. In anticipation of the Sky Blues’ first home game the club’s community football team headed out to schools within the St George district in the city’s south to help spread the word.

In anticipation of the Sky Blues- first home game the club-s community football team headed out to schools within the St George district in the city-s south to help spread the word.
Over the years the St George district has produced some of Australia-s best footballers so Community Officers, Brendan Renaud and Ryan Walsh weren-t surprised with the talent on display at the schools they visited in the area.
When asked about the kids- ability, Renaud replied, “Very good, and with most of them currently playing in the local league, sessions like these will only enhance their skills and knowledge of the game.”
“One of the stand-out schools for me was Hurstville South Public School. Not only were the kids decked out in their mufti gear in their support of genes for jeans day, but they were enthusiastic and attentive which made the day most enjoyable.”
Other schools that left a lasting impression were Hurstville and Bald Face Public School, where the behaviour and energy on display from the students was greatly appreciated by the club.
Coming soon. . . Registrations will open on Monday for Sydney FC-s October School Holiday Clinics where children will learn skills from some of Sydney’s best coaches whilst having FUN in a professional environment. The clinics will be held at the club’s training grounds of Macquarie University where participants will have access to all of Sydney FC’s stars.
