Sydney FC defender Matthew Jurman will miss the rest of the 2009/10 Hyundai A-League season due to a stress fracture in his right foot.
Jurman will be in a plaster cast and on crutches for the next six weeks before immediately commencing a rehabilitation program.
The 20-year-old is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for 2010/11 preseason training.
“It-s really disappointing because both the A-League and Youth League teams are doing very well,” Jurman said.
“Sydney FC has been great to me. I will rest up and work closely with our club physiotherapist and do everything right.”
After making his A-League debut last season, the Young Socceroo has started seven games on the bench in the 2009/10 Hyundai A-League, registering 41 minutes of playing time.
Sydney FC travel to Perth on Friday evening ahead of their clash against the Glory on Sunday 10 January.
