Cirjak believes his Sydney side will become stronger as the season unfolds.
Sydney FC National Youth League midfielder Tommy Cirjak believes his team will become one of the competitions premier outfits once they have played more games together.
Just days out from their first home game of the 2010/11 season, a Sunday (12:15pm kick-off) lunch time showdown with defending champions Gold Coast at the Sydney Football Stadium, Cirjak is confident of a successful NYL season.
And the midfielder couldn-t have started the season and his Sydney FC career any better after bagging a goal on debut against Brisbane Roar in the team-s 3-3 away draw last weekend.
“It felt good playing together last week,” Cirjak said. “We played well in patches and I think the more we play together the better in the league we-ll be.
“It was a very tight game. The first half was good but the best part of the game was the second half where there were plenty of goals.
“I think we-re definitely a good team this year in the National Youth League.”
Cirjak said that Steve Corica-s young side had pulled up well from their first game of the season and that they are expecting a hard fought match on Sunday.
“I think that it will be a close game,” Cirjak said.
“We are focusing on keeping possession and dominating the game and, of course, winning.”
The Sky Blue youth team will again be without key midfielder Dimitri Petratos who is on national team duty with the Young Socceroos but will welcome back speedy midfielder Wely-Al-Rikaby from a knee complaint.
Cirjak and a host of his NYL team mates have been training with the Sydney FC A-League team this week, an experience that will leave him in good stead, and all of which have more than handled.
