Playing without luck, the Sky Blues now have a weekend off due to a scheduled FIFA break, before returning to action on Saturday 16 October for their clash with arch rivals Melbourne Victory at Etihad Stadium (7pm kick-off).
McFlynn feels that despite the 2-1 loss to Adelaide on Monday 4 October, there is much to take from Sydney FC-s performance.
“The boys are very positive,” McFlynn said.
“We look at the performance more than the outcome and I think the performance in the last four games has been steadily improving and tonight was one of our best performances and we created enough chances to win the game.
“Obviously not getting results is disappointing but it would be worse if we were sitting here and we weren’t playing well and still not getting results, but we know that a win’s just around the corner.”
Coach Vitezslav Lavicka echoed the sentiments of McFlynn and said that he and the players will not stop in their pursuit to turn the season around.
“Me personally I am a positive thinking person. I give 100 percent support to players and try to lift them up because they work hard; they give 100 percent for team victory, 100 percent effort but didn’t win,” Lavicka said.
“Very unlucky for us all in this moment, we all are upset but we will work again and try to turn around.”
