Small in stature but strong at heart Hagi Gligor is a footballer who has gone from strength to strength at Sydney FC and we look back at his breakthrough 2013/14 Hyundai A-League season.

Gligor has been with the Sky Blues since 2011 and quickly earned a senior contract at the end of the 2011/12 Hyundai A-League season after a number of impressive performances for the Foxtel National Youth League squad.

After making four senior appearances in his first year in the Hyundai A-League squad, Gligor built on that impressive debut to feature 11 times last season for a total of 794 minutes.

With quick feet and pace to burn, Gligor excels in tight situations and has pinpoint passing as the 19 year old registered an 86.9% passing accuracy from 269 attempted passes last season, chipping in with one assist after he set up Seb Ryall-s slalom run against the Victory in our 5-0 win on Australia Day.

The central midfielder has never been one to shirk away from a challenge, winning 53.6% of all duels and holding a tackle completion rate of 77.3%, picking up two yellow cards along the way.

Gligor-s impressive displays haven-t gone unnoticed as the youngster has earned call ups to both the Australian U-20 and U-23 squads and he-ll be hoping for even more game time under Graham Arnold when the 2014/15 season starts against Melbourne City on October 11.
