Sydney FC captain Rhyan Grant is calling on the Sky Blues to turn home advantage into three points when they host Adelaide United at Allianz Stadium this Sunday.
Following an intense Sydney Derby to open the season, Grant and his teammates are ready for another challenge as they look to secure their first win of the campaign.
“It’d be nice to get our first three points this weekend, but we need to make sure we’re up for it because it doesn’t come easy, whether we’re at home or not,” Grant said.
“We want to win as many games as possible and expect to put our best foot forward and play our brand of football.”

Goals From Everywhere
“There’s plenty of options there for goals, it’s just a matter of making those chances and then, when we get those chances, making sure we’re ruthless in front of goal,” he said.
Grant Warns of Adelaide Threat
The captain knows Adelaide will provide a stern test, particularly with Socceroo Craig Goodwin capable of producing a match-winning moment.
“Goody’s always been, for a number of years, their main guy. You try and think that you’ve got him under control, but then he can just produce something out of nowhere,” Grant said.
However, Grant stressed the Sky Blues must remain alert to Adelaide’s other attacking threats while sticking to their own style of play.

Grant believes Sydney FC has plenty of firepower across the squad, with the key being clinical in front of goal.
“Come this weekend, it will be a little bit different. We analyse the opposition and try and play our brand of football that’s going to help us win.”
