Sydney FC has asked Football Australia to review the length of the ban handed down to midfielder Rhys Youlley following his red card against Wellington Phoenix on Sunday.
Following consideration by the independent Match Review Panel, the 20-year old received a three match suspension having been sent off for a tackle in the 43rd minute of the match.
The Sky Blues have asked Football Australia to refer the matter to the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee to consider reducing the length of the suspension.
Youlley is currently suspended from games against Melbourne Victory on Australia day, the Sydney Derby at Allianz Stadium next Saturday and Auckland FC away on February 7th.
