Sydney FC Captain Luke Brattan is to bid a fond farewell to the Sky Blues after agreeing to part ways.
The 34-year old midfielder has won a Championship and Premiership double and captained Sydney FC to the Australia Cup title in October last year.
He leaves with one Player of the Year award and two PFA Team of the Season accolades.
Brattan thanked the club and its Members after five fantastic seasons, including one as skipper.
“I’ve had an incredible time at Sydney FC and met some amazing people,” he said.
“It’s a great club, it means a lot to me and I will miss everyone involved, particularly our amazing Members who have given my family and I unbelievable support throughout my time here.
“I’d like to thank everyone including the board, the coaches, the players and staff, as well as our Members and fans for making these past five years the happiest of my career.
“All good things come to an end and I wish everyone here much success in the future.”
Head Coach Ufuk Talay said: “Luke will always be viewed as a Sydney FC hero and be well respected.
“He has been an excellent leader during my time here and I would like to thank him for his hard work.
“Hopefully this isn’t the last time we see him at Sydney FC.
“We will look to the future now and I’m excited to bring through our next generation of heroes and club captains.”
Brattan has made 119 appearances in all competitions for Sydney FC scoring three goals.
