Sydney FC and Perth Glory shared the spoils in an entertaining 0-0 draw in Western Australia.
It was a game of a number of chances but the tie ended goalless between Champions Sydney FC and the current table toppers, Perth in windy conditions.

03’ – FIONA WORTS VOLLEY – Worts chests and shoots to test Perth Glory keeper Morgan Aquino in the opening minutes of the game.
23’ – PRINCESS IBINI SHOT SAVED WELL – A quick corner sees Princess make a darting run and turn in to an open space in the box, but her looped shot is palmed off the line by keeper Aquino.
35’ – MADELEINE CASPERS DEFLECTED SHOT – Caspers’ tries to test the Perth Glory goalkeeper from outside the box but her shot deflects off Claudia Mihocic and almost deceives the keeper.
36’ – KRISTY FENTON HEADS PAST THE FAR POST – Zara Kruger delivers a long ball in the box from the corner that is met by Fenton on the back post but is headed wide.
45’ – AQUINO SAVES WORTS SHOT – Tori Tumeth crosses the ball low in the box and finds Worts unmarked, but her shot is easily saved by Perth Glory goalkeeper from close range.
46’ – JADA WHYMAN SAVES NATASHA RIGBY HEADER – Hana Lowry’s dangerous set piece finds Rigby on the far post, but her header is saved by acrobatic Whyman.
51’ – CORTNEE VINE SAVED BY AQUINO – A sweeping move from the back sees the Sky Blues get the ball forward to find Vine, who races into the box, but her venomous shot is pushed away for a corner.
71’ – SHEA CONNORS SHOT FLIES PAST THE NEAR POST – A ball over the Perth Glory defence finds Connors who’s powerful run from the halfway line beats two defenders but her shot flies past the near post.
73’ – MILLIE FARROW LOSSES HER COOL – The Perth Glory forward received a yellow after she was deemed to have tripped Tumeth.
74’ – PRINCESS IBINI MISSES THE TARGET – McLean’s long ball into the Perth Glory box sees the ball bounce to Ibini unmarked in the box but her shot flies over the cross bar.
What They Said: Sydney FC Head Coach, Ante Juric: “I thought we dominated in a lot of patches [but], I do not know what the stats were, but it felt like we had like 20 shots to two or three maybe, that’s how it felt.
“So I am disappointed that we didn’t win but in saying that I thought it’s the best game we have played this year in terms of energy, attacking, defending against a good team.
“It’s tough coming to Perth especially this year when they have a half decent squad which is why they are top of the ladder.”
Match Report: Sydney FC played out a goalless draw with the Liberty A-League’s table toppers Perth Glory at Macedonia Park in Western Australia.
Both teams came to the game in a rich vein of form with the home team, Perth Glory having won three and drawn once at Macedonia Park. The Sky Blues have won two of their opening away games of the season so far.
Fiona Worts had the opportunity to open the scoring in the 3rd minute when she chested down Aideen Keane pass and then blasted the ball towards the Perth Glory goal which Morgan Aquino pushed out.
Both keepers had impressive outings by saving everything and Aquino’s reflexes were put to the test by Sydney FC Captain Princess Ibini. She received a corner, and turned, but her looping shot was cleared off the line.
Madeleine Caspers tried her luck in the 35th minute from outside the box however the ball deflected off Claudia Mihocic and went out.
The Sky Blues pushed all throughout the first half for the goal that would have seen them close the points gap on the ladder to just four points between the two.
Sydney FC’s set pieces caused chaos within the home team’s box with Zara Kruger’s corner kick flying deep in the box, connecting with Kirsty Fenton‘s head but flying wide in 36th minute.
In the 45th minute, on form English Sydney FC forward, Fiona Worts received the ball from Tori Tumeth who’s low cross led her to test Aquino, but her shot lacked power and was easily scooped up by the keeper.
Sydney FC goalkeeper, Jada Whyman also pulled off a great diving save in 46th minute from a Natasha Rigby header to keep the Sky Blues level just after the break.
Sydney FC Head Coach Ante Juric made changes in the second half to change the game with Cortnee Vine coming on for Aideen Keane and she quickly got a chance to test Aquino in the 51st minute but after a sweeping move her venomous shot was pushed out for a corner.
The Sky Blues created two more opportunities later in the half, but shots from Princess and Shea Connors were off target.
