Sydney FC defender and former Socceroo Sasa Ognenovski has today been ruled out for the remainder of the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 season.
Ognenovski sustained a hip complaint against Melbourne Victory in round six of the season which was subsequently diagnosed as an injury to the lateral cutaneous nerve of the thigh. This injury carries an extended recovery period that will see Ognenovski play no further part in Sydney FC’s current campaign.
Sydney FC Head Coach Graham Arnold rued the loss saying: “It’s disappointing to lose a player of Sasa’s calibre for the rest of the season. I will be speaking with Chief Executive Officer Tony Pignata to discuss suitable replacements.”
Sydney FC are next in action on Boxing Day at home to Adelaide United at Allianz Stadium (kick off 7:45pm).
