Adam Le Fondre’s late equaliser cancelled out Craig Goodwin’s opener but chances to Burgess, Lolley and Mak could have won the game.

RODWELL OFF THE LINE – 16’ – Clough cuts the ball to the back post where Goodwin shoots but Rodwell gets a foot to clear it off the line.
LOLLEY CHANCE – 25’ – Caceres long ball across field finds Lolley who cuts inside three defenders and shoots left footed just past the post.
GOODWIN GOAL – 47’ – The ball is cut back to Goodwin at the back post who shoots and the ball deflects into the goal despite Rodwell’s attempted clearance.
LOLLEY CHANCE – 73’ – Lolley is played in by Burgess but Gauci is down well to save his left footed shot.
MAK SHOT – 78’ – Mak shoots from the edge of the box and it brings a save out of Gauci.
LE FONDRE GOAL – 83’ – A marvellous passing move sees Burgess feed Le Fondre in the box and he makes no mistake with the finish.
BURGESS CHANCE – 86’ – Burgess inside the box gets the ball onto his left foot and shoots but it’s blocked.
LOLLEY CHANCE 90’ – Burgess cuts the ball back from the byline to Lolley who shoots just past the post.

“We fought back and showed great character again. I think we got a little bit stretched in the second half but we definitely had the better chances and probably should have won that game.”
Adam Le Fondre: “I think we showed some great spirit and were pressing really late and created some great chances.
“We may be a little bit aggrieved today but Adelaide are on a great run of form so we’ll take a point.”

The Reds started the better and had two good chances before Sydney FC came into the game and Joe Lolley fired just wide but it was goal-less at the break.
Adelaide were in front early in the second half when Goodwin received the ball from a cut back and fired home via the boot Jack Rodwell.
Sydney FC had good chances through Lolley, Burgess, Le Fondre and Mak and dominated the rest of the contest but were unable to secure the win.
The Sky Blues will head into a crucial three game streak against Perth Glory, Brisbane Roar and Newcastle Jets as the races for Finals intensifies.
