Sydney FC’s Liberty A-League match against Perth Glory next Saturday 21st January at Leichhardt Oval has been postponed and will be played on Wednesday 29th March at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in Kogarah (kick off 7pm).
Pitch remediation at the ground is still on-going meaning the venue will not be ready in time to host the match.
Sydney FC had looked to relocate the fixture for next weekend however no suitable alternative could be arranged with many grounds already in use or undergoing similar renovations.
Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Adam Santo said: “We’ve been working with the APL and PFA regarding the fixture but have been unable to find a suitable venue for the game.
“It’s disappointing not to have a home game next weekend, however we hope it will give our players a good break to recover after a busy recent period; and before we head to Melbourne for our Big Blue double header on Australia Day.
“We look forward to welcoming Perth to Netstrata Jubilee Stadium for the new date in March.”
Ticket holders will be contacted by Ticketek regarding the revised date.
