Sydney FC’s Hyundai A-League 2016-17 fixture list has been revealed with Chief Executive Officer Tony Pignata happy the Sky Blues’ draw will appeal all Members and fans.

Graham Arnold’s men open up their campaign in a blockbuster away to the Western Sydney Wanderers at ANZ Stadium before coming home to Allianz Stadium a week later to face former players Jacques Faty, Mickael Tavares and Ivan Necevski in a thriller of a New South Wales derby against Central Coast Mariners.

The Sky Blues next home game is another massive clash against old foes Melbourne Victory on Saturday 5th November in round five, before Perth Glory in round 6 and Hyundai A-League Champions Adelaide United visit Allianz Stadium in round 8.

Hugely exciting summer holiday fixtures at home to Brisbane Roar (round 13), Western Sydney Wanderers (round 15) and Adelaide (round 16) will follow, with a trip to the Champions in South Australia before that on Boxing Day.

And Pignata is already looking forward to getting the season up and running.

“The season draw announcement is that moment when you really start to get excited about the new season,” he said.

“We can’t wait to get going and it won’t be long before that challenge is upon us.

“Our draw really contains something for everyone. We’ve a good number of Saturday night games which we know our Members love as well as some exciting looking Sunday fixtures, particularly the one against Melbourne Victory.

“There are also plenty of family friendly kick off times too and our three Friday night games should attract those people who want to end the working week with a great night out.”

Following the traditional ‘Big Blue’ Australia Day game in Melbourne, Victory return to Allianz Stadium on Sunday 5th March ahead of a Friday night clash at home to our Central Coast neighbours, the Mariners, just five days later.

New signings Alex Wilkinson and Michael Zullo will face former employers big spending Melbourne City in the penultimate home game of the season on Saturday 1st April following their pre-Christmas visit to Sydney in round 10.

Newcastle Jets are the Sky Blues final regular home game of the campaign on Saturday 15th April before a hugely successful Finals campaign – we hope!!!
