The Wollongong junior bagged her first ever Westfield W-League goal in her most recent outing, so we caught up for a chat to reflect on this season so far ahead of Sunday’s clash against the Newcastle Jets at Cromer Park (kick off 6pm AEDT).

It’s been a standout few games for you to start the season, how have you found becoming a regular starter?
Yeah I am super happy with the start to the season. During pre-season I worked really hard on and off the field to push for a spot and I’m grateful that I have been given the opportunity to play in these opening matches. I learnt a lot last year coming off the bench and training with top players and I think that has really helped my transition into becoming a starter.
Ante has praised your performances in midfield, how proud does that make you?
I’m really happy that Ante has praised my performances thus far, he has instilled belief and confidence in me and all the players. Having such a great coach believe in you is an honour and I just wanted to keep performing well for this club. I am proud that I have been able to help the team, but I know there is a lot of things I need to work on to keep moving forward and reach our goals as a team.
You scored your first Westfield W-League goal against the Wanderers in your last game, what were the feelings like?
Getting that goal was a really exciting moment for me especially because it was a Derby match. It didn’t really sink in until after the match, but I was super happy to be able to put the team one up.
Are you a regular penalty taker? We’re you expecting to take the spot kick?
I’m not usually a regular penalty taker, however I was the given the opportunity to take the role of penalty taker and I am confident in my ability in front of goal.
How are you finding your second full season as a Sydney FC player?
I’m loving my second season here at Sydney FC. The environment here is second to none, it’s like a family which makes it really enjoyable. The training is at such a high level and the staff are amazing on and off the field. I’m really grateful to be surrounded by such good people.
What targets have you set yourself following the great start to the season?
My goal is to be consistent week in week out and improve in my actions every single game. However, my main goal is to help the team lift the silverware at the end and win the Grand Final.
