Today we’re looking at the impressive midfield stats of new Sky Blue Alex Baumjohann.
The German joined the Sky Blues for Season 2019/20 and has quickly become one of the core members of Head Coach Steve Corica’s squad.
With an eye for a killer pass, the former Schalke man’s creativity has played key in a number of Sydney FC wins this season.
From the 18 games he’s featured in so far this season, Baumjohann holds a 77.9% passing accuracy, while making 24 crosses from open play, 32 key passes and bagging five assists.
In defence, Baumjohann has made five clearances and eight interceptions, while winning over 50% of all his tackles and duels contested.
Deployed in one of the number 10 roles as part of a fearsome attacking quartet, Baumjohann has had a total of seven shots on target, scoring his first ever Sydney FC goal in a #BigBlue win away at AAMI Park in January.
