Today we’re looking at the solid defensive stats of Sydney FC and Socceroos star Rhyan Grant.
He’s one of the first names on the team sheet, and the club’s longest serving player, renowned for his haircut and marauding runs up the right flank.
Grant has played 17 games so far this season, with his most telling moment coming in Round 2 as he scored a stunning flicked effort against the Wellington Phoenix to seal a 2-1 win at Leichhardt Oval.
Defensively, the 29-year-old fullback boats a 72% tackle success rate while winning over 50% of both his on the ground and aerial duels.
Seemingly everywhere on the pitch at times, Grant has completed 35 clearances, made seven blocks and 25 interceptions in a series of dominant displays.
Going forward, Grant holds a 84.1% passing accuracy, and has delivered 52 crosses from open play, notching four assists and playing 18 key passes to launch numerous attacks.
