In preparation for our first AFC Champions League home fixture at Jubilee Stadium this Wednesday night, we take a closer look at some of the key players as we face off against reigning K-League Champions Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.

Kim Bo-Kyung

The Korean national can open a game up in a moment with his skill and ball playing ability through midfield or out wide.

His CV makes for impressive reading including stints at Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic as well as J-League 1 sides Cerezo Osaka and Kashiwa Reysol.

Kim has been a regular part of the South Korean national team for a decade, representing his country 38 times including the 2012 Summer Olympics where he and his nation would pick up a bronze medal.

This 40-year-old talisman takes loyalty and goalscoring for his club to another level. In a staggering 345 appearance across 11 years for Jeonbuk, the 6ft 2 front man has amassed 158 goals.

Lee in his most recent season found the net 10 times, 1 of which in the AFC Champions League competition.

He has appeared 105 times for the national team and was a part of the South Korean 1998 and 2010 FIFA World squads.

Song Bum-keun

With Le Fondre determined to take his goal scoring form in the league to the AFC Champions League, it’s going to take something special to stop him.

Jeonbuk will hope that Song can step up to the challenge in between the sticks on Wednesday night.

At the tender age of 22, the young shot stopper is already showing his potential, securing a regular starting birth in the Korean Champions side as well as being crowned the AFC U-23 Championships best goalkeeper this year.
