Sydney FC v Brisbane Roar: Match Preview

Thumbnail

Brisbane Roar are the next team looking to halt the Sydney FC juggernaut when the two sides clash in the opening game of Round 17 on Friday night.

The Sky Blues’ seemingly relentless charge towards the Premiership shows no signs of slowing down as they swept aside Melbourne Victory 3-0 in the #BigBlue last week.

The emphatic result – coupled with a draw between Melbourne City and Perth Glory – means Head Coach Steve Corica’s men have a 10-point lead at the top of the ladder.

And they have an excellent recent record against Roar, winning five of the last seven meetings between the two clubs, including a 5-1 drubbing earlier this season.

But Robbie Fowler’s Roar have hit form of late, unbeaten in their last five after their late 1-0 win over Central Coast Mariners in Round 16.
